2002 Chevrolet Express 3500 - Crank No-Start Diagnosis

Vehicle Details

  • Year/Make/Model: 2002 Chevrolet Express 3500
  • Engine: 5.7L V8 (LS1/TBI or Vortec? Need to confirm)
  • Symptom: Cranks but won't start
  • First Occurred: Died while driving up friend's driveway

Initial Assessment

  • Engine turns over normally (starter is good)
  • No start condition persists since initial failure
  • Died while running (suggests possible fuel, ignition, or timing failure)

Diagnostic Priority Order (GM 5.7L V8)

Step-by-Step Repair Process
