Remove standalone changeset-release.yml workflow (version bump PR approach).
Instead, run changeset version inside publish.yml's version job to consume
.changeset/*.md files into CHANGELOG.md, then extract the latest section
for GitHub release notes. This replaces the previous AI-generated changelog
(opencode run --command changelog) with changeset-based entries.
- Add .changeset/config.json with @changesets/changelog-github and fixed versioning for kilo-code + @kilocode/cli
- Add .github/workflows/changeset-release.yml to auto-create version bump PRs on push to main
- Add @changesets/cli and @changesets/changelog-github devDependencies
- Add changeset and changeset:version scripts to root package.json
- Add .changeset/README.md with contributor instructions

When the publish workflow is dispatched with pre_release=true, the CLI
and SDK packages are now published to npm under the "rc" dist-tag with
a semver prerelease version (e.g. 7.1.24-rc.202604081425) instead of
going to the "latest" tag as a stable release.
This ensures that pre-release VS Code extension builds ship with a
matching pre-release CLI on npm, so users on the stable channel are
never affected by pre-release publishes.
Add a pre_release checkbox to the publish workflow that passes
--pre-release to vsce package, vsce publish, and ovsx publish.
This enables publishing to the VS Code Marketplace pre-release
channel without requiring a separate versioning scheme.

source-links.md lives in packages/kilo-docs/ so changes to it already
trigger the docs link checker. The source code path triggers belong
only in source-check-links.yml (the freshness gate).
- Move generated source-links.md into packages/kilo-docs/ so the
existing docs link-checker (docs-check-links.yml) validates URLs
- Add --check flag to extract-source-links.ts for CI freshness check
- Replace lychee step in source-check-links.yml with freshness check
- Merge source-link exclusions into packages/kilo-docs/lychee.toml
- Remove standalone source-links-lychee.toml (no longer needed)
- Remove source-links.md from .gitignore (file is now committed)
- Add source code path triggers to docs-check-links.yml
Extract user-facing URLs from packages/kilo-vscode/ and packages/opencode/src/
into a markdown file that lychee can check for broken links. Reuses the same
Kilo-Org/lychee-action used by the docs link checker.
- script/extract-source-links.ts: Bun script that greps TS/TSX/JS/JSX source
files and filters out API endpoints, localhost, examples, templates, vendored
code, tests, and stories
- script/source-links-lychee.toml: lychee config with exclusions for sites that
block automated checks (GitHub, OpenAI, etc.)
- .github/workflows/source-check-links.yml: CI job that runs on PRs touching
extension or CLI code, plus weekly scheduled runs
The smoke-test job in the publish workflow has been blocking releases
due to infrastructure issues with the external kilo-bench runner.
Changes:
- Set `if: false` on the smoke-test job so it is skipped
- Remove smoke-test from the publish job's `needs` list
- Add comments explaining the disable and how to re-enable
The smoke-test job definition is preserved intact for easy re-enablement.
